Last Spring 2012, we had a record number of participants who traveled to Peru for wrestling, culture and service. There was a record 24 individuals on the trip. A group from the Bay Area (Wrestlers from Serra H.S.) and the Sacramento Area (various schools in that area. There was one wrestler from the Southern California area on the team.</p> <p>This summer we are poised to announce two exciting trips:</p> <p>HIGH SCHOOL CULTURAL EXCHANGE TRIP (Freshmen and Sophmores) TO CUBA: Jun. 4 - 15, 2012</p> <p>HIGH SCHOOL CULTURAL EXCHANGE TRIP TO MEXICO/PERU: Jul. 29 - August 11, 2012</p> <hr /> <br></br> <p align="center"><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><strong>* * *</strong></font> <strong><h5><u></strong></h5></u></font> <font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"> <br> <strong>Spring 2011: Exchange Director Report</strong></font></p> <strong>January 22, 2011</strong></font></p> <p><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"> <p>Attention: Saturday, January 22, 2011: Applications for Peru Spring 2011 have been posted.</p> <p>The Bay Area and State's newest wrestling cultural exchange program. The world is a great place. It has so much to see and learn from. We think this could be the program that will make you see athletics, culture, and the world in a positive light.</p> <p>This program was organized to provide members of these regions international linguistic, athletic and cultural oppourtunities to travel the world. These possibilities are endless...Wrestlers who get involved in wrestling at the international level are a step above. Not only will these experiences shape and develop you into a better athlete, you will develop friendships that are across the world.<span style="font-style: italic;"> As David Schultz+ demonstrated, "Regarded as a tireless competitor and supreme tactician on the mat, he was beloved throughout the world of amateur wrestling for his friendliness and eagerness to lend help or advice to team-mates and opponents alike!!"</p> </span style> </font><font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"> </p> <p>We have just finalized the details regarding the trip to Peru for April 2010. This trip is open for all wrestlers (Ages 15-18). This exchange team will be traveling to Peru this spring April 1-11. The team will be centered at the Peruvian Olympic Training Center we will visit various historical areas in Lima and Cuzco and Machu Pichu. In addition we will be donating sports equipment and assisting with a play ground project at a local school.</p> <p>The aim of this trip is to expose Bay Area wrestlers to the language, culture and wrestling in ancient Incan Empire. This will be a great opportunity for wrestlers to gain international experience while developing their freestyle techniques, confidence and overall skills as a wrestler.</p> <p>We will have dedicated team transportation and participate in educational tours to historical sights in Peru. The wrestlers will participate in daily training sessions with Peruvian Teams. Competitions will consist of dual meets with local and city teams.</p> <p><li><b>Next Trip Information Mtg: Wednesday, February 25, 2008: Serra H.S. Classroom A @ 6:00pm</p></li></b> <p>Last summer, we headed a group to Mexico City. This year we are planning to travel to Peru this April 1 - 11, 2010. We are looking to take a group of 8-10 athletes who are interested in developing their discipline, strength and faith through wrestling.
